Cosmopolitan and vibrant, Juffair has many great restaurants to tempt the weary traveler. 

1. Kabuki

If you’re in the mood for maki, sushi, and sashimi, try Kabuki in Juffair. Rated as one of the best sushi spots on the island, they do get their fish right. There are also bento boxes and hot appetizers in case you’re not in the mood for sushi. It’s a great place to treat yourself and indulge in traditional Japanese food.

Combining Japanese tradition with global flavors and exciting textures, Maki is a leader in contemporary Japanese cuisine. The interior is quite romantic too! Although a bit on the pricey side, you can’t fault their sushi, sashimi, and maki. There is teriyaki, teppanyaki, and tempura as well along with hot specialties like creamy lobster tail. Definitely a feast for the senses!

If you’re in the mood for Chinese, this is one option you can’t miss. From dumplings to Mafu Tofu, sweet and sour fish, and egg fried rice, this is Chinese food at its comforting best. Also expect other perennial Chinese favorites like wontons, chili chicken, beef in teriyaki sauce, Manchurian vegetables and chili fish.

The restaurant has its own special design referencing the Afro-Portuguese roots of its founders. Vegetarians are welcome as they also have a dedicated vegetarian section with nice things like black mushroom and halloumi wrap and roasted veggie wrap.

Bright and cozy, and serving pure vegetarian food (no onions, garlic, meat byproducts); this place is a hang-out for hippies, the diet conscious, and anyone who wants to try good, healthy food. Now serving thali, this is also a great idea for a lunch date or meeting. It was named by Time Out as one of the Best Budget Restaurants in Bahrain which is saying a lot.

7. Kenza

The Lebanese lounge and restaurant has a great view of the city and is especially relaxing on weekends and after work. Live guitar music, hot and cold mezze, and grills are best enjoyed al fresco on the lovely terrace. Prices are reasonable, service is excellent, and on Wednesdays, there’s an Arabian themed buffet!

Not only do they cater to adults, kids can also have fun while eating their pizza as they offer the T-Rex dinosaur pizza and the California Brownie Cake (with ice cream!).
